Individuality

There are two things which make knitting particularly exciting for me: hand-dyed yarns and experimentation. This past week I combined them both, taking a gorgeous gradient sock-weight yarn from Fibrewebs (based in Canberra) and putting it to good use in a simple triangular shawl. I increased until it felt large enough, then increased sufficiently that I could fit an even number of the stitch repeat of Feather and Fan lace across the width of the piece, then knit in lace until I hit the last colour of the three-colour skein. Easy, effective, and I think rather eye-catching. Don’t you?
